About

Common Hands connects volunteers with local needs, offering hands-on support for everyday challenges.

Mission

Common Hands connects volunteers with local needs, offering hands-on support for everyday challenges. We focus on practical care—like delivering food, medicine, and supplies—to help people stay safe, healthy, and connected. Our work is powered by kindness, trust, and teamwork.

Vision

We imagine communities where no one feels invisible. Where people check in on each other. Where help is easy to give and even easier to accept. Our vision is a world where showing up for neighbors is part of everyday life. We believe small, steady acts of care lead to stronger, more connected communities.

Our Theory of Change

When someone receives help during a hard time, it changes more than just that moment. It builds trust, creates connection, and reminds people they’re not alone.

We keep our work simple:

  • Listen to what people need
  • Make it easy for volunteers to help
  • Keep showing up

By removing barriers to getting and giving help, we create room for people to care for each other in meaningful ways.

Our Impact

We focus on showing up where we’re needed. Sometimes it’s a box of food. Sometimes it’s a ride or a kind word.

150+
active volunteers across our network

The impact adds up:

  • 800+ care packages delivered in the past year
  • Ongoing support for seniors, caregivers, and families

Our model is flexible. It’s built to respond quickly and adapt to what a neighborhood needs most.

When my husband was recovering from surgery, we didn’t know where to turn. Then a volunteer from Common Hands showed up with groceries and kind words. That small act meant the world to us. We felt seen and cared for.
